Aquaponics - Archer’s Organics
In 2013 Rich launched Archer’s Organics, a sustainable agriculture startup. He built Barbados’ first commercial scale aquaponics produce operation. The system comprised of 16 x 60 foot long grow troughs, 4000 sq. ft. of growing area, two 5000 gallon fish tanks with 25,000 gallon circulation capacity to grow 16000 units of produce at a time. It was a high density, land use conservative, water conservative, energy conservative, low carbon footprint agriculture business model designed to be both a research facility and a viable commercial venture.
Archer’s Organics led the market for supplying clean, local, organically grown produce to top luxury hotels, restaurant kitchens and chartered yachts in Barbados.
As part of our sustainability mission, we invested in a Nissan Leaf electric van to deliver our produce to our customers in order to further reduce our carbon footprint. Launch Gallery
